Check this out. The publishers of EclipseMagazin in Germany have created a 20,000 euro award program for “Outstanding European Contributions on Java and Eclipse“. Very exciting!

The Medical Banking Project just announced they have selected Eclipse as the platform for their reference implementation. I think it is great to see vertical oriented organizations adopting Eclipse. In my mind vertical frameworks is an important part of the future of open source software and Eclipse.
Last night, I posted Anthony Hunter’s new “The Eclipse Tabbed Properties View” article on Eclipse Corner. In this article, Anthony describes the API for building (oddly enough) tabbed properties views. The article gives several examples of uses of tabbed properties, including the following (from the Eclipse GMF 1.0M4): A tabbed...

I have the lucky task of being the sales guy for EclipseCon. This means I get to talk to all the companies that want to exhibit at EclipseCon. This year one company in particular, Business Objects (BO), is being a huge sponsor of EclipseCon. Business Objects is new to the...

This week both Donald and I are at the Open Source Business Conference (OSBC West). Steve O’Grady already blogged on his impressions of yesterday’s events. For those that have never been to an OSBC, it is a fairly unique show. There are basically equal numbers of lawyers, venture capitalists, software...

Yesterday was the deadline for the early bird registration price for EclispeCon. We now have 800 people registered. A great number since we still have over 4 weeks to go! Last year we sold out at 1000 attendees, so I can see us easily going pass that mark. I am...

We wrapped up the first leg of our Eclipse in Motion roadshow last week with stops in San Diego (Tuesday) and Dallas (Thursday). I had a great time and I’m pretty sure everybody who attended did. One thing that I’ve noticed about Eclipse events that are different from most other...
