Thursday, December 16, 2021 - 07:12 by Brian King
Even though some attempts by contributors have been made in the past, as of mid 2021 still Theia had no support for different locales. Arduino has addressed this with the all new Arduino IDE based on Theia. Having supported Arduino previously with their IDE, they tasked TypeFox with contributing this feature to Theia.

Diagram Editors for Web-based Tools with Eclipse GLSP

Wednesday, September 15, 2021 - 13:12 by Brian King

In this article, we introduce the Eclipse Graphical Language Server Platform (GLSP), a technology to efficiently build diagram editors for web- and cloud-based tools. 5 Reasons to Adopt Eclipse Theia

Tuesday, July 13, 2021 - 08:02 by Brian King

Recently I wrote about the momentum happening in the Eclipse Theia project. In this post, I want to highlight some good reasons to adopt Theia as your IDE solution. The core use case for Theia is as a base upon which to build a custom IDE or tool. However, if you are a developer looking for a great tool to use, you will find some motivation here as well. The inspiration for this post comes from Theia project lead Marc Dumais’ ‘Why Use Theia?’ talk that he gave at the recent Cloud DevTools Community Call. So, you could say this is Marc’s post!

Cloud IDE Day 2021 - A Great Success!

Friday, June 25, 2021 - 06:14 by Brian King

The first ever Cloud IDE Day was held on May 19th, 2021 as a virtual event. While we do have our ongoing Cloud Tool Time webinars and Cloud Chat Twitch.tv series, for the Eclipse Cloud DevTools Working Group, Cloud IDE Day was our first attempt at organizing a larger scale event. With over 200 registrants, nearly 150 live attendees and an impressive group of speakers that delivered some fantastic sessions, you can expect to see more of these kinds of events in the future. Be sure to watch this space, join our mailing list and/or follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn!

Eclipse Theia Builds Momentum

Tuesday, May 11, 2021 - 16:10 by Brian King
The Eclipse Theia project was born just 4 years ago. Kudos and thanks to all the organizations that have supported and built the project into the success that it is today. In addition to these original contributors, there continues to be significant growth in the number of companies contributing to and adopting Theia as the basis for their custom IDEs and domain-specific tools. Because of our active and vibrant community, Theia is now a thriving and diverse project — ready to move to the next level of growth and adoption.
