What methodology do you propose people use?
This is an easy one: we don’t. I’m a huge fan of agile development methodologies (especially Extreme Programming) and so recommend that you at least look into them to see if they’re a good fit in your organization. At the end of the day, however, pretty much any software development methodology can be used to build Eclipse RCP applications.
