Welcome Ivar!

Tuesday, August 20, 2019 - 13:49 by Paul Buck

I am happy to announce that effective October 1st, Ivar Grimstad will join the Eclipse Foundation in the role of Jakarta EE Developer Advocate.

Ivar is a well-known speaker on the international conference scene and presents often on Jakarta EE and Eclipse MicroProfile. He is active in the Jakarta EE Working Group, where he is the EE4J PMC lead. He is also a member of both the Specification Committee and the Steering committee. Most recently, he was a technical advisor with a focus on enterprise Java and cloud with Cybercom Sweden. He holds a number of Java certifications, was awarded as an Outstanding Spec Lead for his work on MVC 1.0 and is a Java Champion. Ivar is based in Sweden.

Ivar will continue the work he is doing in the Jakarta EE Working Group and in addition, he will become the Jakarta EE Developer Advocate. In this role, he will drive initiatives that help increase the awareness, participation, and adoption of Jakarta EE and related technologies. He will also cooperate with the vendors’ developer advocates in order to help with the promotion of their products based on Jakarta EE and Eclipse MicroProfile.

Please join me in congratulating Ivar on taking on this new role in the Jakarta EE community!
