An interesting new project proposal was just posted late last week called Rich Server Platform – User Interface Framework (RSP-UI). This is interesting to me, since it is another great example of the Eclipse community taking the Equinox OSGI framework and extending it into many different areas. Some other recent examples include the proposals for an Enterprise Component Platform and the Rich AJAX Platform.
Wolgang Gehner from Infonoia has been spearheading this effort to extend the Equinox OSGI framework to the server. Based on the project proposal, it looks like he has a great set of initial committers. It will be interesting to watch how this and the other projects evolve.
