M2M / IoT Links – JavaOne Edition

A lot of M2M and IoT news coming from Oracle at JavaOne. I am sorry I missed JavaOne this year but Oracle really seemed to stake out a leadership position for themselves and Java in the space. Great to see enterprise vendors, like Oracle, moving in this direction.

Java on the Raspberry Pi – This will be great for the Java community. A lot of innovation will be coming.

JavaOne People Counter – Based on Eurotech’s framework which is coming to Eclipse as the Kura project. Lots of OSGi and MQTT goodness.

DukePad – Pretty cool Oracle has put together an IoT developer kit of hardware and software. I think this is a great move for them and shows they are getting the maker mentality in the IoT world

openHAB wins Duke Award – Congrats to Kai and Thomas for winning a Duke Award. It will be great to have openHAB at Eclipse as the Eclipse Smart Home project.
