Today was the first kick-off meeting for the Mobile Industry Working Group; the meeting agenda is here. The motivation of this group is to make it easier for a developer to find and use the SDK’s from the different handset manufacturers. The goal is to define a Mobile Application Development Kit (MADK) that is a simplified package of the required Eclipse projects and links to the different SDKs. More details on available in this presentation.
Motorola, Nokia, RIM, SonyEricsson, Intel, Genuitec and Craig Setera (of EclipseME fame) participated in the first meeting. There seems to be interest, so it will be great to watch the progress. If you are interested in following or participating, see the MIWG wiki page.
