The Eclipse community spans a large number of projects, working groups, and members, and the numbers are continuing to grow.
We work together to achieve great things, and it’s important to share this progress with the greater open source community by getting media coverage. That’s why the Eclipse Foundation marketing team is here to support the community with press releases and media engagement.
When To Issue a Press Release
There are many newsworthy events that may be worth announcing with a press release, including:
-
When a new member joins the Eclipse Foundation
-
When a company releases a commercial product based on/integrated with Eclipse-governed technologies
-
When an organization makes a donation to the Eclipse Foundation
-
When a new Eclipse project is proposed
-
When a new project is created at or transitioned to the Eclipse Foundation
-
When a new working group is created at or transitioned to the Eclipse Foundation
-
When there is a new version or significant milestone for a project
How To Get In Touch
If you would like to work with the Eclipse Foundation marketing team on an announcement for one of these scenarios, please review the Press Release Guidelines and complete the Press Release Request Form.
If you have prepared a press release or announcement in another form, like a blog post, you can share it via our newsroom. Simply submit the details of your news/event and a member of the foundation staff will review it. Once approved, the news will be displayed on eclipse.org and the relevant working group sites. We also share these submissions through our social media channels and our newsletters, when appropriate.
