Industry leaders Red Hat, Eurotech and Cloudera turned to the Eclipse IoT Working Group to overcome common challenges and provide their customers with an end-to-end IoT solution. This case study describes the difficulties each company faced and how they managed to meet customer expectations with the help of the Eclipse IoT Working Group.
Red Hat, Eurotech, and Cloudera share a valuable common denominator; they are open source enthusiasts with a firm belief in the value of collaboration. Each company is trying to help its customers take advantage of IoT technologies but navigating the hurdles is time-consuming and strenuous. They turned to the Eclipse IoT Working Group to overcome the challenges and together, they developed the first end-to-end IoT architecture for enterprises.
Thanks to the benefits that arose when the three companies joined the Eclipse IoT Working Group, they were able to jump-start development efforts and offer their customers the flexibility to run IoT services in different locations and move them as needed, as well as tap into the hybrid cloud approaches that allow them to run some components on-premises and others in the cloud.
This new arrangement allowed Red Hat, Eurotech, and Cloudera to provide their customers with a solution that did not lock them to a particular vendor, platform, or proprietary technologies. Their commitment to collaboration continues to benefit customers as they execute their IoT deployments.
