Embedded SIG receives August Contributor Award!
The Eclipse Cloud DevTools contributor award for August goes to Rob Moran at Arm for initiating and hosting the Cloud DevTools Special Interest Group for embedded development. The embedded SIG is an open collaboration of embedded vendors and service providers, with the goal of strengthening the open source ecosystem for building web- and cloud-based tools used for embedded development. Current members of the group include Arm, EclipseSource, Ericsson, Renesas, STMicroelectronics, and AMD.
Theia 1.28
Theia 1.28 is here! Jonas, Maximllian, and Philip give us the new and noteworthy, including support for a disassembly view and update to the Monaco editor.
Theia Community Release
The Theia Community Release is a roughly quarterly release with additional focus on stability and compatibility. The goal is to ease the adoption of Theia as an IDE platform.
GLSP
Jonas, Maximllian, and Philip discuss a new feature of GLSP 1.0, a flexible architecture to integrate arbitrary data sources and model management frameworks. Eclipse GLSP is a framework for building web-based diagram editors for use in Eclipse Theia, VS Code, Eclipse desktop or a simple web page.

Another area of recent GLSP improvement is with its API documentation, getting started information and examples. This includes some nice work by STMicroelectronics; they won a contributor award for this!
EclipseCon 2022 and Cloud DevTools Community Day!

TheiaCon 2022 Call for Presentations
The TheiaCon 2022 Call for Presentations (CFP) is now open! We will be offering a broad range of opportunities to present and share all things Eclipse Theia at our 2nd annual TheiaCon event to be held November 30 - December 1, 2022. This is a 2-day virtual event. The program will include 25 minute presentations (including demos), expert panel discussions and 5 minute “lightning talks.” Please submit your talk proposal by September 30th!
