Have you ever wondered who the committers behind Eclipse Autowrx are? Eclipse Autowrx is an SDV project that pursues a digital-first approach for the creation of next-generation customer experiences. Meet Project Lead Nhan Luong, Senior Software Architect at Bosch Vietnam. After spending ten years in the IoT industry, he transitioned to the automotive sector almost three years ago, embracing the world of open source innovation and collaboration. Since then, he has been actively contributing to Vietnam’s rapidly expanding automotive industry, connecting with the global community through the Eclipse SDV Working Group.
When and how did you start your career in automotive?
From January 2023. I worked in the IoT industry for ten years before switching to automotive.
How has open source software influenced or changed your work and career?
It has changed a lot. I used to work on proprietary software, and now I can work on open source software that is more flexible and collaborative. It has also helped me move faster in my career.
I have learned a lot from the open source community, new technologies and new ways of working.
The automotive sector in Vietnam has been growing rapidly – how has that environment impacted your professional growth and opportunities?
The automotive sector in Vietnam is still in its early stages, but it is growing rapidly. This has created many opportunities for me to learn and grow professionally. I have been able to work on exciting projects and collaborate with talented people from around the world. The growth of the automotive sector in Vietnam has also made it easier for me to find new job opportunities and advance my career.

What has been your #1 benefit of joining the Eclipse SDV Working Group?
The #1 benefit has been connecting with like-minded professionals and learning from their experiences. The Eclipse SDV Working Group has provided me with a platform to share my knowledge and learn from others in the automotive industry. It has also helped me stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the field.
