Meet the Eclipse SDV Committers: Frank Märkle from openDUT

For the third part of our series of short interviews with the most active Eclipse SDV committers, we sat down with Frank Märkle from the Eclipse openDUT project for a quick interview. Eclipse openDuT is designed to streamline the testing and validation of automotive software and applications by offering a structured framework along with detailed process descriptions for its intended use.

When and how did you start your career in automotive?

I joined Mercedes-Benz Tech Innovation in 2018, as part of an apprenticeship. Already back then, I got my first taste of contributing to open source, which I'm glad to be doing again.

What’s the biggest challenge for SDVs?

Bringing reliable software onto the road.

What has been your #1 benefit of joining the Eclipse SDV WG?

Connecting with like-minded folks, who bring in new ideas and tons of experience.

How would you describe Eclipse SDV in three hashtags?
