Eclipse Cloud DevTools Community Update - February 2021

Since I last published a community update post in October, we’ve been busy in many areas focused on raising the profile of the Working Group and providing assistance to our projects. ECD Tools accelerates the adoption of Cloud IDE and container-based workspace management, through the adoption of standards, engagement with third party developer tool providers, and the promotion of Eclipse projects to cloud developers. I would like to highlight a few notable updates.

Installing the Zulu open source Java Virtual Machine on Raspberry Pi

I’ve recently been playing with the early-access version of Zulu Embedded for ARM32. Zulu is an open-source and certified build of OpenJDK. It is a great alternative to the JRE from Oracle as it does not requires you to pay any licenses, and it is also a huge improvement over the OpenJDK build you can get off the Debian repositories, which is not really optimized for ARM (and that’s a euphemism! :smile:).
