EclipseCon BoF Proposals

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 - 21:39 by Wayne Beaton

The EclipseCon 2009 submissions system is now open for “birds of a feather” (BoF) sessions.

As in past years, this year we will be giving priority first to Eclipse projects. EclipseCon is a great place to get the team together and do one of those all-important face-to-face meetings in which you can discuss the future of your project and make sure that you have that project plan in place.

Just like last year, BoF rooms will not be equipped with projectors or audio equipment. BoFs are intended to be multi-way discussions between like-minded individuals, not presentations. I’m sure that there are many good reasons to have projector during your multi-way discussion between like-minded individuals, but you’re just going to have to go without. No, I can’t be reasoned with.

Project BoF proposals will be accepted as immediately as possible in the order in which they are received. Others may have to wait for acceptance to give the projects enough time to get their proposals in. Whatever the case, the second priority acceptance and scheduling criteria will be first-come-first-served.

Anyway, I think that I may be making it sound more complicated than it is. Bottom line is this: get your BoF proposals into the system. Be sure to add comments to your submission outlining any constraints that need to be considered.
