Hashtag Jakarta EE #357

Welcome to issue number three hundred and fifty-seven of Hashtag Jakarta EE!

This week, I was busy at IBM TechXchange 2026 and JCON USA 2026 in Atlanta. After a pit stop at home this weekend, I will be on another continent next week for Devoxx Morocco 2026 in Casablanca. From there, I will head to Porto for Porto Tech Hub 2026.

Eclipse JNoSQL has (finally) made the move to EE4J from Technology. Which top-level project a project is under does not mean much in practice other than a logical grouping of projects and which PMC that oversees it. It makes sense for Eclipse JNoSQL to be bundled together with the other Enterprise Java projects under the EE4J PMC.

Eclipse JNoSQL is an implementation of Jakarta NoSQL. The latest version Eclipse JNoSQL 1.2.0 introduces support for Vector Databases. This is an important milestone for the project, which makes it an even stronger candidate for inclusion in Jakarta EE 12. By the way, did you know it also implmenets Jakarta Data?

Speaking about Jakarta EE 12, the deadline for getting it released by JakartaOne Livestream on December 1 is fast approaching. If you are involved in any of the projects in Jakarta EE Core Profile, specifically Jakarta JSON Processing and Jakarta RESTful Web Services, please help out with reviewing pull requests and responding to messages on the mailing lists so we can collectively make the release happen. It will not happen without the help from the community.

I know that there are lots of CFPs open to various conferences, April next year is far away, and we are all busy. Here is a trick to lessen the load a little: Submit early! And often, if you have more talks. And, why not start by submitting a talk to Open Community Experience that returns Brussels in April next year?
