Welcome to issue number three hundred and fifty-five of Hashtag Jakarta EE!
I am on my way home from dev2next 2026 which took place in Lone Tree, Colorado. Between the talks and conversations, I was able to write and publish a blog post about the inevitable Token Apocalypse. Quite a good read, if I should say it myself. I think that what’s going on in our industry right now is both extremely alarming and a tremendous opportunity. It is not only about keeping afloat, but rather building a foundation to sail out on top of the shock waves fi, and when, they come. Check it out and let me know what you think.
It is not only apocalyptic clouds on the horizon, there are some bright skies ahead too. One of them is the upcoming release of Jakarta EE 12 Core Profile. The Jakarta EE Platform project will start laying out the deadlines for the release reviews fairly soon now to be able to publish the release in time for JakartaOne Livestream 2026 on December 1. The program and schedule is now public. Check it out and register for the event.
I know that there are lots of CFPs open, and we are all busy. So, here is a trick to lessen the load a little: Submit early! And often if you have more talks. And why not start with submitting a talk to Open Community Experience that will return to Brussels in April next year.
