Hashtag Jakarta EE #350

Welcome to issue number three hundred and fifty of Hashtag Jakarta EE!

The conference session has started. Over the past two weeks, I attended JavaZone and IntelliJ IDEA Conf. Next week, I am going on a JUG Tour with Gerrit from Azul. We will visit Philly JUG, Garden State JUG, and New York Java SIG and talk about AI and Jakarta EE. I really enjoy doing these joint things with our members. It is a way of bringing value back to those contributing to the sustainability of the Jakarta EE ecosystem.

We also collaborate with other initiatives at the Eclipse Foundation. An example of that is the SDV Hackathon Chapter 4 in Friedrichshafen, October 6-8. There, you will have the opportunity to combine the technologies from Software Defined Vehicle with modern Jakarta EE and Artificial Intelligence. This will definitely be a fun experience. And you can win great prizes!

Jakarta Contexts and Dependency Injection (CDI) 5.0 was approved by the Specification Committee this week as the first specification targeting Jakarta EE 12. This is an important milestone for Jakarta EE 12 as CDI is one of the most central specifications in the Platform. More specifications will follow soon.

The Starter for Jakarta EE has gotten a design refresh and is now aligned with the new design of the Jakarta EE website. Check it out to see how easy it is to get started with Jakarta EE. Feedback is always welcome, and if you would like to contribute, that would be appreciated as well.
