Welcome to issue number three hundred and forty-two of Hashtag Jakarta EE!

I am currently at JConf Dominicana 2026. I will post a separate post about the conference shortly. But I will mention the session I am attending right now, which is a presentation about floci by Hector Ventura. In short, floci is a drop-in replacement for LocalStack that lets you emulate any cloud environment locally.

As usually in July, the Jakarta EE platform project slows down a little. But the weekly platform call still happens for those not on vacation yet, or already back from theirs. I think it is important to keep the discussions going, even with a little less people present than usually. To keep the drumbeat going, sort of speak.

Speaking about drumbeat, Rustam wrote a follow-up post from his article about binary uploads with Jakarta REST. The follow-up is about Resumable file uploads with plain Jakarta EE and TUS protocol. Directly after last week’s Hashtag Jakarta EE, where I encouraged community members to send their articles they want featured, I got a ping from Lenny Primak. Please keep them coming! The first article from Lenny is about Apache Shiro. Shiro integrates the Jakarta EE 11 versions of Jakarta Faces, Jakarta CDI, Jakarta RESTful Web Services and Jakarta Servlet. He also pointed out FlowLogix EE components is the only implementation of JPA Lazy DataModel for PrimeFaces that doesn’t require the entities to be serializable. It also supports cursor pagination out-of the box.
