Welcome to issue number two hundred and ninety-one of Hashtag Jakarta EE!
It feels like this summer just came and went without me even noticing. I can’t believe this is the last Hashtag Jakarta EE in July! Luckily, the summer continues throughout August. I will then attend JCrete, which has become a tradition for me. I always enjoy coming back to the OAC and Kolimbari to meet fellow Java community friends.
Later in August, I will be going on a longer trip since I will be joining the LAOUC Community Tour 2025. This year, I will visit Buenos Aires and São Paulo where I will present Jakarta EE in two different talks. The one in Buenos Aires will be about Jakarta EE Core Profile and will feature Helidon as one of the compatible implementations. In São Paulo, I will present the 30 year history of Enterprise Java with Jakarta EE playing a central role.
Jakarta EE 12 chugs along according to plan during the summer months. The first milestone will be in September. This milestone will mostly contain administrative tasks that is expected by the component specifications. Such as setting up the build environments, preparing the repositories with branches and such.
