It’s that wonderful time of the year again, when code meets cars, and community meets creativity: The Eclipse SDV Hackathon is back! This time, it’s happening in two cities simultaneously, from 30 September to 2 October, 2025. Can’t wait to sign up? Great news: Registration is now open!
I couldn’t be more excited to be organising this amazing event for the third year running. It’s truly a highlight of my year!
Double the Cities, Double the Fun
This year, we’re dialling up the energy by hosting the hackathon simultaneously in Berlin at the shiny Bosch Innovation Campus, and in sunny Porto at the cutting-edge 42 School. Two cities, one community, and one shared mission: to push the boundaries of automotive software innovation.
Worried about missing out on what’s happening across the continent? Don’t be! We’re fully streaming both venues to each other – you’ll get real-time collaboration, live demos, and maybe even a bit of friendly rivalry.
Why Join?
If you’ve never joined an SDV Hackathon before, here’s the vibe: imagine 100 developers, students, and automotive nerds gathered together for 2.5 days of pure hacking joy – building prototypes, testing SDV tools and blueprints, and unlocking new automotive use cases like never before.
At its core, the Eclipse SDV Hackathon is all about:
- Experimenting with open source SDV tools and blueprints: put them to the test, break things, rebuild them better.
- Building cutting-edge, real-world features that can live on top of open source automotive software projects.
- Exploring emerging technologies in a hands-on, high-energy environment.
- Learning from top-tier experts and growing your skills.
- And above all: having fun while coding with a passionate, like-minded community.
Whether you're refining SDV tooling or developing blueprint use cases, you're contributing to something bigger: the transformation of the automotive industry through open collaboration.
You Never Code Alone
Worried you’ll be left alone with your team, the tech, and the challenges? Rest assured, you’ll be in great hands with our skilled Hack MCs and dedicated coaches ready to guide you throughout the entire event. We’re thrilled to welcome Andre Bott, Senior Manager of Project Delivery at Bosch Digital, as our charismatic Hack MC this year. Expect competence, energy, and engagement. His wingman, Christian Heissenberger, Technical Program Manager SDV at Eclipse Foundation, will be assisting from the front lines to keep the show smooth and spirited.
In addition, our seasoned Hack Coaches from leading OEMs and suppliers and more will be right there with you. They’ll guide you, challenge you, and celebrate with you.
Together with our partners FEDERATE and HAL4SDV, we’ve spared no effort to make sure this event is not just productive, but unforgettable.
