This incredible growth trajectory has seen us reach 500 million downloads just nine months ago and 600 million in March 2025. This achievement is a testament to the community's trust and the increasing popularity of open source Java, which has seen downloads grow exponentially over the last three years.

Fueled by Our Contributors: A Look at Recent Innovations
This milestone would not have been possible without the dedication of our incredible community of contributors and committers. Their work across over 54 builds for each OpenJDK CPU release for various platforms and Java versions is invaluable. In recent months, they have been focused on:
- Improving Testing and Quality: Significant efforts have been made to enhance and automate our compatibility and testing processes. This includes improving test traceability, reproducibility, and automating GUI tests for the OpenJDK project within the AQAvit project.
- Enhancing Performance and Compliance: We've also seen performance enhancements for AQAvit and the automation of interactive tests from the Technology Compatibility Kit (TCK), which is part of the Temurin Compliance project.

While we celebrate this success, the long-term sustainability of the project requires ongoing support from our community of users and contributors. The immense growth in downloads means a greater need for resources to maintain infrastructure, enhance automation, ensure security, and invest in quality and performance.
To help us meet these growing needs, the Adoptium Working Group launched the Temurin Sustainer Program in May 2025. This program provides a pathway for both enterprises and individuals to contribute financially.
