I am happy to announce that Juan Rico has joined the Eclipse Foundation as the Program Manager for the Oniro Working Group. Oniro is an Eclipse Foundation project focused on the development of a vendor-neutral, distributed open source operating system for consumer and IoT devices. The Oniro Working Group's mission is to foster an ecosystem of organizations that supports the community in the growth and evolution of the Oniro operating system and platform.
As Program Manager, Juan will work with the Oniro Working Group’s Steering Committee to define and execute the global strategy for Oniro at the Eclipse Foundation. He will also engage directly with the Oniro community to understand, coordinate, and facilitate working group objectives and priorities.
Juan is currently based in Spain and has a depth of program and project management experience with specializations in IoT and digital transformation, most recently leading IoT innovation and business development with Teka Group. Originally an engineer by trade, he holds a Master’s degree in Information and Communication Technologies from the University of Cantabria in Spain.
