Project Community Enhancements for 2010

Monday, December 7, 2009 - 14:34 by Mike Milinkovich

I mentioned in a comment last week that — pending Board approval of the 2010 budget — there are a number of items which we’re looking at for 2010 that we at the Eclipse Foundations are pretty excited about. These are some major pieces of work that we are going to be focusing our time and energy on.

There will also be a number of significant programs for the commercial members, but those will be the topic of a separate post.

Dear Bjorn: Go away

Monday, November 30, 2009 - 13:30 by Mike Milinkovich

Bjorn,

Your latest post deserves a clear response.

Your former colleagues at the Eclipse Foundation have tolerated your public abuse quietly because we are professionals, and we honestly thought that you would tire of it. Apparently we were wrong. But the time has come to say it: You are a jerk. Please go away. You quit the Foundation, you have zero commits since April, and we tire of your sniping from afar.

Differentiating Communities

Thursday, September 24, 2009 - 17:28 by Mike Milinkovich

I was asked earlier today if I could describe “…the Eclipse community and its differences between other traditional commercial open source communities say like Sugar’s and non, or less pure commercial communities like Apache.”

Darn good question. Off the top of my head here are a couple of key differentiating points. I would certainly be interested in hearing the views and comments of others. Both from Eclipse and from other communities.

Eclipse Summit Europe Submission Deadline Approaches…

Tuesday, August 11, 2009 - 16:20 by Wayne Beaton

Eclipse Summit Europe 2009 will be held again this year in beautiful Ludwigsburg, Germany on October 27-29. The deadline to submit your proposals is August 18th. That date is not very far away. I encourage you to submit a proposal about your project (and other topics of interest) sooner rather than later to ensure that your submission has adequate exposure to the selection committee.

Ladybugs

Monday, August 10, 2009 - 10:14 by Wayne Beaton

From the emo@ mail bag:

I hope you can consider change icon for the “eclipse BUGS”. Ladybugs are good bugs, they are helpers to farmers and gardeners. They eat bad bugs. They should not be used as symbol to represent “eclipse BUGS”.
